One thing that makes Royal Caribbean ships unique is all the thrilling activities on board! Whether you want to try it out for yourself or watch from the stands, The FlowRider is a totally cool and unique experience on Royal Caribbean cruise vacations!
The FlowRider is a surfing simulator designed to simulate the sensation of riding ocean waves. All of the Royal Caribbean Voyager, Freedom, Quantum, and Oasis class ships offer the FlowRider experience. Icon of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's newest ship making her debut in January 2024 also features a FlowRider.
Similar to most other experiences offered by Royal Caribbean, the staff onboard make the experience a great one! The staff are very instructive! From finding your balance to learning cool tricks, the techniques they share with you help make you look like a professional!
If you want to try it out for yourself, you’ll need to sign off on a waiver to start the process! Once you register you’ll be given a wrist band and the green light to try out the FlowRider with a boogie board. If it’s your first time on a wave, no problem, the staff on board will walk you through every step of the way. Once you’re able to prove that you can hold your balance on a wave with a boogie board, you’ll be promoted to the standing boards.
The FlowRider has been a very popular attraction on all the cruises we’ve been on! The daily cruise compass will tell you when the FlowRider is open for each level. It may be worth it to arrive a few minutes early to get in line! When it’s your turn to ride, once you wipe out two times it’s back to the line you go!
Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and Symphony of the Seas have TWO FlowRiders onboard for double the fun!
Whether you're a seasoned rider or a first-timer, the FlowRider promises unforgettable FUN that captures the essence of riding the perfect wave, no matter where you are at sea. So, gear up, ride the wave, and embrace the thrill of the FlowRider onboard a Royal Caribbean ship!
